The classic pallet inverter represents the first ever pallet changing technology, with Toppy being the market pioneer in 1988. They were originally designed by the CEO and the Production Director (who still hold the same positions today!) for a client who needed to change pallets but had products with different shapes, weights, and sizes.

This is why the first pallet inverter was created—a robust machine to simplify the removal of the original pallet and the insertion of the destination pallet.

Since then, many other pallet-changing technologies have been developed to reduce operator effort and automate the process, but we are especially fond of this machine as it was the first one we ever designed!

It was originally designed to be highly versatile, capable of handling a wide range of loads, including bags, big bags, boxes, drums, bottles, cans, vials, and many other products. It is also capable of handling heavy and bulky loads!

They can be customized to match the level of automation required.

In manual mode, the operator controls the opening and closing of the upper and lower platforms, as well as the machine’s rotating.

Alternatively, in automatic mode, the process is entirely automatic—simply load the product into the machine and press a button on the control panel to complete the pallet exchange operation.

Our pallet inverters can be customized with full or partial AISI 304 stainless steel or a galvanized finish, ensuring durability and suitability for industries with strict hygiene or corrosion resistance requirements.

One of the most popular versions of the Classic Inverters is the “Floor Level Version”, designed for loading and unloading at ground level, making it perfect for operations with a pallet jack.

Side-guard protection enhances safety by limiting access to the operational area during pallet changes, also with safety light curtains that detect even the slightest intrusion, ensuring full protection for operators.

How Does the Pallet Exchange Cycle Work?

The pallet exchange process involves safely and momentarily rotating the load to remove the original pallet and insert the new one.

The operation starts by loading the entire load into the machine using a forklift or pallet jack. Once in place, the operator secures the load and rotates it 180° safely using the control panel, with either manual control or automatic operation, depending on the model.

Once the load is upside down, the operator removes the old pallet and inserts the new one manually or with a forklift. Finally, the machine rotates the load back to its original position, with the new pallet in place and ready to be picked up.
